Different types of nose piercing jewellery
There are two categories when we talk about nose piercing jewellery, according to the area of the nose pierced: Nostril piercings, and septum piercings, the septum being tha base of the nose, inside the nostril at the area where they join as a common wall.

Nostril piercing
Even if often quite small and delicate, this type of jewellery is quite obviously seen. The piercing is made on the cartilage part of the left or right nostril. Even if the jewellery used is most of the time coloured or adorned with a small natural or artificial gem, it can also rhyme with sobriety and discretion. It could be a ring, possibly attached to a chain linked to the ear (indian tradition).

Septum piercing
Practised at the base of the nose, at the nostrils' junction, it is often a circular or a ring. This piercing is not very frequent and this adornment remains quite original, even if it has know a big success in recent times. Some people can be shocked by this type of jewellery, literally hanging out of someone's nose. Its adepts like to play on that aspect and sometimes wear such item to express a freedom over appearances or even an obvious provocation to a politically correct society.
